SUPERLOT 2006

SUPERLOT was commissioned as part of the exhibition RE:Location at the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, Maryland and is sited at the East Baltimore Men's Center. SUPERLOT was built collaboratively with students from the Maryland Institute College of Art's Super Pride Studio. The work operates as a "recreational" sculpture, a public structure for the community, and specifically is targeted for use by the clients of the East Baltimore Men's Center. The director of the Men's Center, Leon Purnell, voiced a desire for a new piece that would encourage "physical activity" and "relationship building' amongst the community. The project was lead by these directives, and has since been sited in an underused parking lot near the Men's Center.
